Weekend getaway

So this past weekend I went to visit Ryan in Biloxi. (He is working at Keesler AFB temporarily) I drove over there Friday afternoon after work. I was super excited to make this trip because this is the first time that I have driven by myself on vacation. Oh and I got to enjoy riding in my new car! Everything was going well until I got off at the wrong exit. I thought "oh this isnt a big deal, Ill just turn around." Well I made it a big deal. I got lost and I had to ask for directions. Turns out, I just had to continue going down the road and I would be where I was supposed to be. Well, I make it to the base and I have to check in, Ryan informs me that I need my drivers license, registration and proof of insurance. Youre thinking, yeah so what. Well I realized that I didnt have my insurance card with me! I suddenly started to freak out, "great I drove all this way and I cant get on the base." So I had to get a walking pass to get on the base and park my car down the road at the Beau Rivage parking garage overnight. My Mom emailed me a copy of my insurance card Saturday morning and I finally was able to park on base. Whew!

After the parking confusion Friday night, Patrick came to rescue me and take me to where the boys were staying, he said that they would be back shortly and to wait for them there. Shorty...umm 2.5 hours later. So the boys stroll in and we decide to go get something to eat. After driving around and not having any luck finding anything to eat, we settled on eating at Waffle House. It hit the spot at 10pm. Well by then anything sounded good.

Saturday, Ryan took me to the prime outlets in Gulf Port. I was surprised that he wanted to go, especially because he LOVES to shop...not. But we walked around and enjoyed our time together. I really did not find anything, well except for a Coach purse, but decided against buying it. Thank you will power!

Later that night, we decided to check out this local barbeque place called "The Shed." Ryan's momma recommended it to us. It was so neat. There was a blues band playing and everyone was sitting on picknick tables around a fire eating and listening to the band. It was very campy and fun. Totally out of the ordinary. I would definitely recommend you to try it.

Sunday, we decided to check out the casinos. We settled on the Beau Rivage because of their buffet. We were pleasantly surprised to find out that it was a Champagne Brunch. I thoroughly enjoyed the Mimosas. :) After brunch we decided to take a stab at the slot machines. 30 minutes later we had lost 60 bucks and we decided to head back to the base. The rest of the afternoon we relaxed until I had to leave.

Engagement pics are up!

So my last post talked about Ryan and I getting our engagement pictures take. I was worried that the weather wouldnt hold up for us. Despite the cloudy sky, the weather was perfect....well we made it work. So I wanted to post the link to our engagement pics. I am not as thrilled as I thought I would be, maybe because we are both super pale? Oh well, I guess we can always turn them into black and white :)
